#127 How to come home to who you truly are with Danielle LaPorte

In this week's episode of The Unconventionalists podcast, Mark Leruste sits down with Danielle LaPorte, an invited member of Oprah’s SuperSoul 100 and best-selling author of The Desire Map whose website was named one of the “Top 100 Websites for Women” by Forbes.

Her book The Desire Map has been translated into 9 languages, evolved into a yearly day planner and journal system, a Top 10 iTunes app, and an international workshop programme with over 500 licensed facilitators in 15+ countries.

Entrepreneur magazine calls Danielle, “equal parts poet and entrepreneurial badass" and 2020 Presidential candidate for the United States Marianne Williamson said that, “Danielle is a bright light in the modern priestesshood.”

In short, when it comes down to conscious goal setting, truth telling and entrepreneurship, Danielle is kinda of a big deal. That’s why millions of visitors every month go to her website for daily #Truthbombs.

More than that though, Danielle is a living example of what is available to you when you have the courage to show up in the world for who you truly are.

While in London for a talk, Danielle took the time to pop in The Unconventionalists studio to have an open and honest conversation with Mark about what she really thinks about positive thinking, climate crisis and her recent episode of experiencing deep anxiety and suicidal thoughts.

Or what Danielle refers to now as her, " living death.”

What was really refreshing about Danielle’s inspiring conversation was that she didn’t hold back from sharing how she can still find herself comparing herself to others, how she can also feel anxious about the future and catch herself buying into the illusion that she has something to prove.

There’s something very special about Danielle’s energy, voice and impact. So as you can imagine, this is a powerful conversation about connection, truth telling, coming home to who you truly are and overcoming your darkest moments in life.

As you’ll also hear in today’s episode, Danielle’s new podcast “With Love, Danielle” is now available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Stitcher.

In her words, “It’s spirituality for grown-ups […] and I hope each episode leaves you feeling a little less alone, full of possibility, and very clearly part of the solution.”

A word of warning: There is some swearing and adult language in this episode, so if you have children around you may want to put in some headphones or listen to this episode later.

As always, we’d love to hear what you think of this weeks’ episode by tagging  @markleruste and Danielle @daniellelaporte over on Instagram or whatever social media platform you love most.

Enjoy!
